About Me
My name is Tom Hadfield and I'm a final-year doctoral student in machine learning at the University of Oxford in the UK. I'm a member of the Oxford Protein Informatics Group, supervised by Professor Charlotte Deane. My research focuses on the application of deep generative models to fragment-based drug design and is generously funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and my industrial collaborators Roche, UCB Pharma and LifeArc.
Prior to starting my doctorate I completed an MSc in Statistical Science (also at Oxford) and a BSc in Mathematics at the University of Bath.
Alongside my studies I am a tutor for the 3rd year undergraduate course in Statistical Machine Learning, run by the Department of Statistics. I play Badminton in the universities leagues for Oxford University Badminton Club and Golf for Oxford University Golf Club. I am a member of Exeter College's Middle Common Room, having previously served as its President in 2019.
